Tata Motors revealed its ambitious product plan during its latest Investor Meet (or Analyst Meet). The top-selling brand plans to launch 30 new vehicles by FY2030.
This includes a mix of brand-new models, significant facelifts, and a strong push into the EV segment. Tata Motors is the 3rd largest passenger vehicle manufacturer in India and consistently challenges Hyundai for the 2nd spot.
Tata Motors is the undisputed leader in India's EV market and holds roughly 55% of the market share (down from a higher 80-85% two years ago). They have sold over 2 lakh EVs to date.
Tata Motors' ambitious FY30 plan can be broadly broken down as follows:
Total Vehicles: 30 new vehicles by FY2030
New Nameplates: 7 brand-new nameplates (completely new models). This includes:
Product Refreshes/Updates: 23 major updates to existing models. This includes:
Facelifts: Comprehensive cosmetic and feature updates for existing models (e.g., Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Nexon, Altroz, Harrier, Safari).
Model Year (MY) Updates: Minor tweaks, new features, or variant additions.
Special Editions: Limited-run variants with unique styling or features.
Powertrain Upgrades: Such as the new 1.5-liter TGDi turbo-petrol engine for Harrier and Safari.

These are the models that have already been showcased as concepts or close-to-production versions and have generated significant buzz.
Tata Sierra (ICE & EV): It has been showcased at Auto Expos and spotted testing. The Sierra is anticipated to be a strong contender in the mid-size SUV segment and positioned above the Curvv and Harrier. Sierra EV is expected to launch first, by FY2026, followed by the ICE version.
Tata Avinya (EV Sub-brand - Multiple Models): The Avinya will be Tata's premium electric sub-brand. The concept versions (Avinya and Avinya X) have already generated significant buzz and will be built on a dedicated EV platform (Gen-3 architecture). They are expected to arrive around 2027.
Tata Curvv (ICE & EV): The Curvv has already made its official launch with 3 powertrain options: petrol, diesel, and electric.
The company plans 23 major updates across its existing lineup.
Tata Motors is pushing its EV strategy and aims for EVs to account for 20% of its total passenger vehicle sales by FY2027 and increase to 30% by FY2030.
The company has already launched the Tata Harrier EV, Tata Punch EV, and Tata Curvv EV
Upcoming EVs (from the 7 new nameplates): Avinya Sub-brand and 2 all-new EV models.
EV Versions of existing ICE models: Expect more current ICE models to get electric variants as Tata expands its EV portfolio. For example, the Safari EV is highly anticipated.
